Nominated for

Executive council

Patrick Grannan

St. Barnabas, Borago Springs

Nominee’s Bio: I am a member of St Barnabas Borrego Springs where I also serve on the Vestry and am in charge of Communications and Social Media as well as other duties, including Finance and Worship Committees. I have been a member of the Diocesan Executive Council for two years and currently serve on the Leadership and Advocacy Subcommittees. I previously served on the Bishop Transition Committee. I am also a member of the Gun Safety WORKING Group Project.

Nominee’s Statement in Favor of Their Candidacy: I believe we need to think of Diocesan leadership as a two way street: from top down (Diocese to Parish) as well as from bottom up (Parish to Diocese). I see the role of Executive Council as one of helping to discern the moral dictates of our faith and trying to inspire our church to follow those moral dictates of faith. At times it may feel like tilting at windmills but if we keep tilting eventually we get there. At the least we are better for having made the effort. And in the words of the late Congressman John Lewis sometimes we have to make good trouble to get there.
