Nominated for

General Convention Deputation

Jen Jow

St. Paul’s Cathedral

Nominee’s Bio: I am a highly committed, dedicated church and diocesan volunteer with a strong work and spiritual service record. As a church volunteer at St Paul’s Cathedral, I work as a project manager with different departments and serve in several ministries, such as Outreach Chair, Sacred Ground in Action (SGIA) Chair, Hospitality, Finance, Verger, and as a licensed lay evangelist in Evangelism. In the diocese, I am the Advocacy Chair, Elected Nomination Committee Chair, and handling the Market Place logistics for the Good News Festival. Also, I serve on the Board of Directors at Episcopal Community Services (ECS),function as the treasurer on the Executive Board, and Finance Committee Chair.

My accomplished work experience as a sales and marketing consultant was to build relationships and true partnerships by helping the customer realize areas of over/under spending in their financial reports and provide productivity initiatives. I worked for a Fortune 500 company and a medium size regional company; served in the United Sates Navy and was stationed in San Diego. Graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Master’s in Business Administration and Organizational Management degree. Highly motivated to do my best and capitalized on my personal and professional skill sets to help team members succeed in their current positions, plus using my personal mantra of lead by example and treat others like you would yourself.

Some of the things I enjoy is going to out to eat, attending movies and baseball games with friends, gardening, golfing, zip-lining, and traveling.

Nominee’s Statement in Favor of Their Candidacy: I have experience as a deputy and participated at last year’s General Convention. As a first-time deputy I learned and experienced how resolutions are brought forward at convention, the concerns and challenges of current state, the voting process, and how each house (bishops/deputy) interact with one another. It was great to work with other people from the diocese and the time we shared together getting to know each other better. With my many years of being engaged, involved, and serving as a church and diocesan volunteer I have had the opportunity to understand church management principles and practices. If there is something I don’t understand at convention, I am adept to do research on the matter or ask questions. I have a good degree of personal religious commitment and sharing with others.
