Nominee’s Bio:Born into a revolutionary family in South Vietnam, Hanh Tran has led a life reflecting her cultural tradition using her voice and actions for social justice and personal accomplishments.

She fulfilled her childhood dream attaining college education at the renowned private Warren Wilson College in Asheville, N.C. Subsequently, she became the first woman ever admitted to the MBA program at the University of North Carolina in 1971

Her multifaceted career including merchandise management with SeaWorld.Orlando, San Diego and Ohio. She was an awarded Financial Planner with CiGNA and New England Financial.

She served as Executive Vice President and Director of International Business Development for the largest architectural and engineering firm, the Stichler Design Group in San Diego. Through her networking and ability to collaborate with various professionals, her firm was awarded the design for the first hospital for women in Bangkok, Thailand.

Throughout her successful career, Hanh also volunteers in social services serving as the first Chairwoman of the Board of Directors for the Union of Pan Asian Communities assisting with its fundraising.

Hanh has been a member of St. Peter's for over 30 years serving as Eucharist Minister, Lector and on the Vestry. Hanh was one of the founding Daughters of the King, Hilda of Whitby Chapter at her church and was selected as its first President

In 2007, while on Bishop Mathes 's diocesan Strategic Planning, she organized the Anti - Racism.

The Diocesan Multicultural Children's Fall Festival attests her belief in serving her community,upholding cultural heritage and evangelism. The last Festival before the pandemic

brought seven churches together for dances, music, games and ethnic foods for over 200 children and adults.

Hanh also is an experienced Lay Deputy serving the 79th and 80th General Conventions. She was selected to serve on the Legislative Committee for Christian Formation and Discipleship acquiring knowledge for legislative process. More importantly, she participated with Deputies from seven dioceses in the drafting of Resolution D083 and one of its endorsers, addressing the erosion of reproductive rights and autonomy. The Resolution was passed in the House of Deputies and concurred by the House of Bishops.

Hanh has been active with the Episcopal Asian Minstry serving as its National Convener for its women. Her service and leadership was recognized by church leaders, as such she was nominated and selected to be one of the Delegate of the Episcopal Church to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in 2007 meeting with over 3000 girls and women around the world.

Hanh attributes her service and ministry as her walk with God in the world she lives. Her faith formation has been strengthened with her Cursillo weekend, graduating from Education for Ministry and her life - long practice of meditating with scripture. Her Ministry now is guided by the inspiration of St. Ignatius of Loyola's motto" Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam" for the greater glory of God.

Nominee’s Statement in Favor of Their Candidacy: Hanh Tran is a experienced Lay Deputy serving the 79th and 80th General Conventions. She has demonstrated ability to work effectively with other Deputies from various Caucuses to address social justice and gender equality issues.

Hanh understands the legislative process and the evolution of creating Resolutions evidenced with her involvement and endorsing Resolution D083 which was passed at the last General Convention.

It was indeed a great honor for Hanh having afruitful contribution to the 80th General Convention.
